review 1: Is this a novel about the normal and everyday? Nope. Is it still real, captivating, and unputdownable? You betcha! I was introduced to Pullen’s work with the 1st novel in this series and was quite intrigued, but this novel definitely blew that one out of the water. It has love, loss, lust, suspense, family, and friendship all wrapped up in a very intriguing package. The Pullen combines brilliant descriptions, with a solid narrative, and a captivating storyline to create the perfect balance in this will-they-won’t-they romance. I also appreciate the fact that this novel could be read as a standalone. There are a couple of pieces of background information from the first novel in the series that would help to fill in some blanks, but they aren’t necessary to get t... morehe full effect of this amazing novel. Character development in this novel is also phenomenal. I enjoy the fact that Pullen doesn’t depend on previous novels in this series to develop the main characters. Every aspect of their lives is developed fully and completely, but in a natural manner. You don’t feel like you’re reading excerpts of a biography, but you do feel like you know the characters. They also battle with real trials and issues. There are never any out of this world encounters, even if some of the issues they deal with are at times extreme. As a whole, I loved this novel. I had enjoyed The Marriage Pact, the first novel in the series, but I absolutely love this one. I can’t wait to read the next novel in the series. Please note that I received this novel free of charge from the author in exchange for an honest review.
review 2: This is a very good book. I have not read the first book yet, but I will.Suzanne is not always likeable but she is certainly interesting. And Dylan is an actual hero. This is a story of a woman trying to figure out her path in life. Suzanne has made errors in her treatment of people and because of an unexpected situation, she is evaluating her past. Self involved in the dictionary would have Suzanne's picture as the definition. But, she has so many good qualities too, that you can almost over look that part of her personality.Dylan is a good guy who happens to be a super star. He has a family he loves no matter what they do and that love is an example of his loyalty and commitment to people for whom he cares. This is a love story and a mystery and a lesson in relationships all rolled into one terrific book.I read and read and read in order to finish the book. I would recommend it as an entertaining read. It should keep you interested and involved. Enjoy! less
