review 1: As sequels go this one was awesome! We get to see a lot through Victoria's eyes, I like how she was once this scared little girl but with all that had happened in the 1st. Book till now when she is 18 we see her as a strong independent women that really don't need anyone but her family. She don't care what other people think she just tunes them out. Lucas is such a nice guy and I hate how he messed up with Victoria I mean the things he said to her and how he said them what was she going to think!I think after Lucas is injured it was a hard time for both main characters, but at the same time we get to see them grow as a couple. There were multiple times in those scenes that I wanted to kick Lucas ass, I understand that he was in a hell of a lot of pain but come on when you ... moresay those type of thing it hurts. In this book we see how far some one will go for family and those they love. It is a ride right from the word go. I loved this book and I hope others do to. Here are some of the parts that I really liked:“Victoria, Quinn carefully hugs her back. I hope you're not insulted, I've never had a daughter, but I'd be honored to claim you as mine. He see tears well up in her eyes. The honor is all mine, Quinn, I've truly been blessed with the men in my life.”“Thank you, Uncle William....I need you to know.....No matter what you decide.....I love you, you are my second father. And you are my first daughter.”“You're mine, Victoria. I'm yours. Now you are going to eat if I have to shove it down your throat.”
review 2: I enjoyed this book. You definitely need to have read the prior story (Cassandra's Challenge) as this book refers to events in that and it helps if they're fresh. (I actually read this book and then went back and re-read the first book.)The storyline in terms of the action was plausible (even the Earth parts) and the dream parts follow on from the prior book. It wasn't as epic a book as Cassandra's Challenge. The first book is "and then, and then, and then" from start to the end. This book, whilst encompassing some action isn't as full of drama. With regards to Lucas and Victoria. I liked that their relationship (as adults) wasn't rushed. Even though I thought Lucas being an insensitive jerk giving a very short hand and very open to misinterpretation explanation of his actions (which were) was a plot device I could have done without, it gave the couple some distance (likely the intent). The situation with Lucas and his hands gave them the chance to get to know each other again in wholly different circumstances.I would have liked a bit more detail about Victoria and the nine years between books. We start with her graduating but the reader doesn't really know the extent of her studies until Lucas learns of them. Therefore, seeing her take charge of situations early on doesn't make all that much sense. Yes this is quickly explained but perhaps a scene (maybe the one involving Gad) would have been useful especially if it included some class, study information and the attitudes Victoria has had to endure.I liked Cassie and William as they are in this book although perhaps a Queen scene or info' on her reign might have been nice.Overall, I enjoyed this and am looking forward to the next book which was hinted at. less

Highly enjoyable. This author could stand a new editor, but she is definitely onto a good thing!
