review 1: Growing up in tiny La Paz, Colorado the two boys were inseparable. Noah Blackburn and Phoenix Quinlan share a birthday and a true friendship. Their lives begin to crumble however before their sixteenth year. Noah’s artist father is killed in a car accident and inexplicably Phoenix pulls away from his best friend, school, and his life altogether. The idyllic childhood they shared is at an end.Twelve years later Noah returns to La Paz world weary and unsure of his future. He is about to discover that the past can be reclaimed and molded into a better, happier future if he chooses. Questions will be answered even if the reveal is bone deep pain. Maybe you can go back.Deeply emotional and heartfelt, Love Me Back to Life triumphs. Filled with warmth, passion, and drama Noah a... morend Phoenix’s tumultuous story runs the gamut of emotions, despair to jubilation and everything in-between. Love Me Back to Life touches the heart with well drawn characters, realistic life challenges, and a satisfying conclusion. This one holds on long after the last page is finished. This book was reviewed by Lisa for Joyfully Reviewed (JR), and was provided by the publisher/author at no cost to JR for the purpose of being reviewed.
review 2: Holy moly spicy guacamole. I wanted to LOVE this story and I know it has/had the potential, but it just fell short. It was WAY too rushed. I wanted more of Phoenix and Noah as kids. I wanted more about Phoenix and his disappearance. I wanted more about Noah's life in D.C. I wanted to be shown things and not told things. They were separated for 12 years, but it only takes a couple of beers and it's like nothing ever happened. I needed them to ask the who's, what's, where's, why's, and how's before they got "friendly" and besties again. I really did love Gracie though :)Overall, this should have been a full length given the heavy subject matter so we as readers could have more details. We NEED them. less
