review 1: The details, descriptions, emotions and the choices that the characters made that fateful day on the island of Janus Rock made a fabulous story. I truly enjoyed M. L. Stedman's first novel. She brought Tom, Isabel and a baby, "a gift from God " absolutely to life on the pages of the book. The choices they made, the consequences they would suffer and the lives of other that would be forever changed were heartfelt. Great book!!! review 2: I enjoyed this story. It brought me out of my "book-drought". I read it from cover to cover, and though some of the character development was quite thin, the struggle, the angst, the choosing of evil over goodness in the name of mother love, was heart breaking.
