B is for Between The Devil And The Deep Blue Sea. “Riders On The Storm” 7″ and a self titled demo CDr. Inside Recess played with these guys at the EZ Rider House in Cincinnati sometime in the early 2000’s. The show was with the Minus Tide and Turn Pale, which are also bands worth checking out. That’s where I got their CDr demo. I purchased the 7″ from someone online more recently because I found it for cheap. They play a low-fi post-hardcore / emo / whatever it’s called…pre-indie?! They were pretty good live, and this music is still listenable so it’s stood the test of time. We played with them again a year later at Sudsy Malone’s with Existential Dilemma. On tour I think their van broke down in Portland sometime in the mid-2000’s they just decided to move there permanently. They put out a full length CD as well, but I don’t think they made it much farther after that, and I’m not sure if anyone went on to work with other acts. Artsy DIY music for when you’re feeling slower low key musical vibes I guess!!
*aka Between the Buried and the Deep Blue Sea, and Between the Devil and the Buried and Me.
All I can find online is their old BTDATDBS Facebook Page.
