review 1: SMILE.... is what I had on my face the entire time I was reading this story. It is a sweet story about a girl, Flora, and a flamingo. It is poetry in motion and beautiful and fun. The pages are interactive with flaps with add to the story. A delightful story for readers who pick up this book. Only worry for me is how long until I needed to glue the flaps back down in the library, but I think it is worth the risk.
review 2: Interesting concept with this "worldless" children's book. Call me "old fashioned" but, when it comes to books that are geared to children beginning to read; they should have words. The pictures are visually stunning. It is very reminiscent of the animated film "Fantastia 2000's", animated sequence of the flamingos. Of course there is cu... moreteness abound with the swirls of pink and dancing flamingos and a chubby faced little girl. It just isn't really groundbreaking for me. This would have worked better as an activity book. less
