review 1: I gave the book a chance seeing that Molly Ringwald wrote it, and I'm glad I did. It was an easy read with characters that I cared about. I also felt the characters could be real people. All the story lines interconnected and it was fun figuring out which characters are connected. I saw many people did not like the ending, however, I thought it was somewhat realistic and open ended. I noticed she has written another book, and I'm curious to check it out.
review 2: Maybe a 3.5, but I'm feeling generous and rounding that up rather than down. There's nothing particularly unique or compelling about this story (about a marriage falling apart and the people involved figuring out whether and how to move on or to save it), so this novel might not have held up for
... moreme had it been told in usual, straightforward fashion. But constructing it as a series of short stories, all telling different pieces of the story from different characters' perspectives, was an interesting approach and made for a more remarkable read. And Molly Ringwald is a stronger writer than my initial (unwarranted) skepticism allowed. Her prose isn't life-changing, but she does work in a number of perfect sentences that made me stop and marvel for a bit. I won't rave about this one wildly or recommend it to every reader I know, but overall, well done, Molly. less

Molly Ringwald? Seriously. What a smart, well-written, interesting collection of stories. Loved it.

I really wanted to like this book. It was so uninteresting that I stopped after the 2nd story
