But I had a good idea how this book would read when the back cover showed endorsements from Sarah Palin, Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly, and Rudy Giuliani.Monica writes with anger, sarcasm, shock and awe, etc. For example: Of course she go... morees after Obama (as he Facebook Friends Ahmandinejad, Fidel Castro, and Hugo Chavez), but she also goes after MO (who during the day shows off her W.H. organic garden and celebrates low calorie school lunches, but sends the W.H. staff at night for late night Burger runs). Nations progress as such:Bondage to spiritual faithspiritual faith to couragecourage to libertyliberty to abundanceabundance to complacencycomplaceny to apathyapathy to dependence finally dependence into bondage (Monica thinks we are in the last two stages)A few points Crowley makes:It took 190 years for the US to amass 1 trillion in debt. Now we amass that much in under 9 months.In 1941 out average debt was 43 billion (370 dollars per person). Today at a population that has tripled we owe 50 k per person.Bush is also to blame with TARP, Medicare Part D, and No Child Left behind. But his deficit was 3 percent of GDP. Obama's (1.5 trillion dollar yearly deficit) has been 11 percent of GDP. Bush took 2,648 days to increase the debt by 4.9 trillion. Obama took just 945 days to increase the debt by 4.2 trillion.Under Speaker Pelosi 3.66 billion has been added to the debt per dayIn the first 9 months of 2011 the US spent more to service the interest on its debt (385 billion) than some 195 countries full GDP (Nigeria, Austria, Switzerland)Crowley continues on with the arguments against the BO administration over the past 4 years: 48 million on food stamps, 6.5 percent drop in income, black youth unemployment at 50%, US credit downgraded for the first time in history, an unemployment rate near 8% despite trillion in stimulus.Does Crowley offer a few solutions?She is a big fan of Paul Ryan and his suggestions. Dollar for dollar rule: every dollar increased in debt limit must be combined with a dollar in spending cuts. Simplify the tax codes. Get spending below 20% of GDP. A balanced budget ammendment. Raise the age on Social Security.Of course most of the arguments are somewhat futile: the people have voted and the President will lead how he chooses for the next 4 years. 4 stars. I liked the arguments against typical big spending liberalism. I could do without all the mean spirited Sarcasm.
review 2: God, this book was terrible. It's like she made a transcript of her radio show, stuffed it into a hardcover binding and somehow managed to get it published. The book itself is just mindless drivel, with plenty of reference to those "Liberal Socialist Communists". Furthermore, the author's arguments are nonsensical. Yes, everyone, President Obama is supposed to fix an economy that's the worst it's been since the Great Depression in just four short years, all while having to deal with John Boehner and Mitch Mcconnel, the latter of which made this memorable quote:“The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president.” ~Mitch McConnell, Senate Minority Leader, (R-Ky.), October 2010And the funny thing is, the parts of the book that aren't saying that Obama is a baby eatin', rootin' tootin', Bible-burnin', red commie nazi musselman who prays to the satanic cult of that there Marx feller are saying how terrible the rest of them hippie weirdos are. less
