review 1: The author has done it yet again! Even after 6 books I am still hungry for more. So much adventure and history! Can you imagine being present in 1920's Egypt? BEFORE King Tut's tomb was even discovered. It was a fun and adventurous story. Kind of reminiscent of the Mummy movies-similar atmosphere/feel to the environment. I love it. I hear the 7th installment of this series comes out in May. I can't wait! I have said it once and I'll say it again...the love story part of the book is a little too corny for me, but doesn't take away from my enjoyment at all. A small part of me is guiltily enjoying it. Highly recommend this series!
review 2: Jane Austen once said "if a book is well written, I always find it too short." I can relate. I always find that to be true ... moreevery time I read one of Monique Martin's "Out Of Time" books! (Sands Of Time is book 6 in the series...if you haven't read any of the others...go get them. Now. You will not be disappointed!) Monique is a brilliant storyteller with an endless imagination. She excels at creating characters with incredible depth that you really care about. I end each book already anticipating their next adventure! Sands Of Time starts out with a bang and takes you on a ride through Egypt in the 20's that is not to be missed! She obviously does her research before writing a book. Her descriptions are so vivid that you feel as if you are right there with all of her wonderful characters, experiencing that point in time in Egypt through their eyes. There is time travel, romance (Without the vulgarity that seems to be becoming the norm...it's so refreshing and REAL), an intriguing mystery that unfolds wonderfully as the story progresses, lots of action, a touch of the supernatural and fabulous humor! She is great at writing witty dialogue...smart, thoughtful and at times laugh out loud. This is a book that you must read! (As well as all the others in this series!) Well written, intelligent and just plain FUN!!! Keep them coming Monique! You're such a gifted writer...I'll go wherever your fabulous characters take me! (I received this book as an ARC on my Overdrive Media app...but purchased it immediately so that it can sit on my 'Monique Martin' shelf on my nook. That way all of the Out Of Time books sit in a row, in order, together...as they should be! :-) less
