review 1: I liked this book better than the first one. There was a more to this one, a purpose to work towards other than an accidental journey through time. I loved the descriptions of San Francisco and the Great Earthquake. I got a better feeling for the time frame and the descriptions of the atmosphere and clothing made it easier to visualize. The characters were great, I just loved Lillian, Max, Gerald and Teddy. It was sad to see them go. Can't wait for more adventures with Simon and Elizabeth.
review 2: This is a great little series. I am generally more interested in more epic fantasy series, however I surprised myself by really enjoying this read. Characters are very personable, storyline is thoroughly enjoyable. The storyline is not overly complex and it is... more a little on the predictable side, however sometimes that is exactly what you need in a book and I have now purchased the entire series! This, number 3 was a great addition to the series. less
