review 1: Okay, so I liked the sequel better than the first book. I still don't seem to be bonding with the characters at all (though I do think I'll like vampire!Arthur better than fatalistic!whiny!Arthur). I also think Phil came through as more interesting in this installment, which is odd since he isn't really in it. I'll look for the next installment when it comes out to see if they continue the upward trend.
review 2: Abandoned. I tried, I really did. I love the premise but after 50 pages I was confused. I didn't read the first book in the series and perhaps that offered more effective world building. Also, I was surprised this was published through a branch of Hachette. It seemed like it needed another round of edits, one that caught content (like the world buildin
... moreg or lack thereof) and to vary sentence/ paragraph structure. less
