review 1: I really wanted to enjoy this more than I did. The story is about a guy named Marv Pushkin was a horrible person, really reprehensible person with no saving graces. He is trapped under his SUV being eaten by a bear. I have to give Hansen points for originality. However, all I could think of is I read the book is how much cooler it would he had been a likable character in this horrific situation, and this had been a straight out horror novel. And it really diminished my enjoyment trying to read this. But I can't fault the book for being something it wasn't – it was not a horror novel, it was a satire and darkly comic work. The ending redeemed a lot of the book for me – it was very unexpected and enjoyable.
review 2: Marv Pushkin is a complete asshole who I l... moreove to hate......lol!!!!I would have given the book 4 stars but the ending was just alrite for me......it is a great first book though and I laughed out loud a bunch of times while reading this.Marv's assholish bliefs and remarks are hilarious......Even though he probably deserves to be eaten by a bear I still couldn't help wanting him to beat that bear's ass. less
