review 1: I liked very much the story and the way in which the author writes, the choice of words. The 2 things that disappointed me a little bit were the following two: 1). the thing that Jama didn't meet his dad in the end, even though he was so close to it, which was the thing that at least I was sure about for a while before they announced that the father died; 2). the book ended almost suddenly, I would have liked it to have still some 20 pages in which to tell what exactly happened after.
review 2: Finished the book last night. I liked reading about Jama's travel through so many different cultures in a historical and social environment so unlike our own. Interesting to know there are bits of a real story intermingled, although the real Jama turned out to have a dif... moreferent fate. I found the ending a little abrupt, I would have expected and preferred a different turn of events. But I enjoyed the settings and the story overall. less
