review 1: The sixth book in this series focuses on Mercy, a leopard and Riley, a wolf shifter getting together while trying to find out who's trying to pit changelings vs psy.As has been typical with this series, Mercy's strong, Riley's alpha and possessive and they have to find a balance to be together. The Bottom LineThe romance was fun and the world continues to fascinate me. Very enjoyable series so far.
review 2: Riley was awesome, amazing and I didn't think that a relationship between cat and wolf would ever work, but Nalini Singh pulled it off. Riley was one of the fiercest, protective alpha wolves I've ever read, but he knew how far to push Mercy and he understood how important it was for her to not change who she was. It was awesome watching these two dominant
... more changelings realize they could be themselves with each other; that in fact, that was what each loved about the other. For if either changed, there would be no relationship. And the end, when he brought her home? I cried. It was such a sweet, beautiful moment! What I am loving most about this series is not only that each couple is so diverse, has different issues they're dealing with and different backgrounds, but more that the plot surrounding these characters is so interesting. I have never, ever been so anxious and excited at the same time to read the next in the series and to keep going. I want to see how it all works out. I want to know who the Ghost is. I want to know what happens to the NetMind, the DarkMind, and the PsyNet. And I want to know more about the humans and whether they will turn out to be friend or will they turn bad (again). And what is an X-Psy? Is that what Kaleb is? What does that mean? Each installment answers so many questions but then leaves me with so many more! less

Branded by Fire is amazing in the sense that it has a lot of character development, main plot involving the Human Alliance, and also new twists—both for characters from previous and next books. Mainly Lucas / Sascha and Hawke / Sienna.Riley and Mercy have interesting dynamics. Unlike the previous couples, their relationship gets physical really early into the book—in the first chapter. Unfortunately, their game of chase isn't exactly my cup of tea. Their hesitation, especially Mercy's, is understandable, but I didn't really like how their tug-of-war goes on and on until near the end.Still a good read though.

Even after binging on six Psy-Changeling books in eight days, I'm still captivated by this series! This was the most charged pairing of them all. I liked the real dilemma of who was going to leave his or her respective pack. The best part is when Riley says he wishes he could give up his pack for Mercy, knowing how it will tear her apart. Interesting to be introduced to new changeling species too. The only moment that was off for me is Mercy's timing in accepting the mating bond.
