review 1: Another interesting installment in the Psy-Changeling series. I kind of wanted Sophie to figure out a way out of the net, but at the same time, I think her staying in and being one of the anchors will allow her to see more of how things are changing. It's also interesting to see how the story keeps morphing. There's this underlying thread that ties the stories together, but most of the story is about the core couple. Another enjoyable listen.
review 2: Nothing's really perfect in this world because even the amazing Psy-Changeling series fell short in that aspect. I guess it can be blamed to the fact that the series has been going on for so long that it's now more susceptible to errors or dislikes but then again, it can be just a matter of personal preference. F... moreor some reason, I can't seem to get into this book. Right at the beginning, I couldn't appreciate both the hero and heroine for all their awesomeness. They're still the typical Singh H/h. Strong, protective hero and courageous, smart heroine. The story is a little dull and dragging. To be honest, I skimmed right through it. I find the parts about the supporting characters more interesting than the main story arch. Don't get me wrong, Max and Sophie are both wonderful in their own rights as far as leads go but I find myself drawn to the familiar stories of Lucas and Sascha and Vaughn and Faith. I even liked Nikita's parts better. And of course who'll forget the growing presence of a potential hero or antagonist, Kaleb Kry— however his surname's spelled.Having said all that, I think the main reason this book didn't appeal much to me is because I couldn't care less about the other couples as my eagerness to read Hawke and Sienna's story burns brighter. I could have skipped this one from the get go but the urge to understand the whole series plot is stronger than anything—even books as dry as this one. Good thing though: one more book to go til Sienna and Hawk. Yay! less
