review 1: Add "Gossip Girls" fashion, trendy night spots, high school with vampires and you have a recipe for a YA series. The fashion details made me yawn at times, but it was worth it to see what Cally's new adventures were. I wish there was more about her relationship with Peter, a vampire hunter, and it was interesting to see how her birth father fits into her life. I hope that this series develops more because I want to see more about Cally and her struggles with being half-vampire and half-witch. I still hate Lilith, but it's better than the first instalment.Borrow, don't buy.
review 2: The book Night Life is the sequel to Vamps, it's about some very powerful teenage vampires who also seem to be linked in some way. Cally and Lilith who are rivals but both find out s
... moreomething extremly surprising, Jules who is a cheating womanizing manwhore who likes Cally but is dating Lilith, and Peter the Vampire hunter who is dating Cally. Lilith wants to become a model and will do it even if she has to deal with the cconsequences, getting her credit card cut off and dealing with her boyfriend Jules while grieving over the loss of ther Bestfriend who was killed by Cally. With the Rauhnacht Grand Ball approaching both girls have the same needs a handsome escort and amazing dress but with dealing with home and school issues they have to keep a sharp eye out This book seems to have a text-to-text connection with the Blue Bloods series. I say this because both Cally and Schuyler one of the main charectars of the Blue Bloods series have something in common there enemies boyfriend likes them. With Schuyler her enemy Mimi who has a bond with her twin brother will do anything to make sure her twin is all hers which is exactly what Lilith will do. Both Mimi and Lilith are the popular girls but they are also the ones that end tp getting betraid and caught at the scene of the crime. Another thing both books have in common is that they are both about vampires and take place in New York City. I gave this book a 4/5 because to me it seems like the plot is the same as vampire books that take place in NYC. It's like copying Blue Bloods but adding something different that Blue Bloods doesnt have. It has what the vamps do after school, it's like the vampire version of Gossip Girl. It's great over all but the plot is kind of played out. less
