review 1: Not as good as I had hoped. One problem is, there are mistakes in the text. Either Bush has a bad editor or she is a poor writer or both. As a result, my reading of the book was slower than usual. The story was pretty meaty, with plenty of characters and descriptions, which bogged me down too. As for the story itself, well.....okay, but not terrific. I wasn't excited until the end, yawn. Okay, so....until Bush improves, I don't think I will read anymore of her novels......
review 2: I'm not even finished with this book and I'm totally frusrated. The idea and story line is great but the author skips around and leaves out so much its ridiculous. Some of the best parts of the book she comletely leaves the reader in the dark, like easing about September finding thi... mores note tha caused her mother's death. It's a build up, then she just casually mentions this big fight about it....thats it! No scene ....nothing! Irritating. And the main character, weak. So so weak, has no mind or apparent willpower of her own. I was really, really disappointed in this book. less
