review 1: Eh. That's the best I can do for this book. It was just eh. I won the third book in this series from Goodreads, and I hate starting series in the middle. I picked up this book from the library. Their were so many characters - I found it hard to keep track of them all. The plot meandered a bit, but when it got toward the end it finally started to work. The end just happened very quickly. She does have a good intro to book 2, so I'm sure I will just keeping reading.
review 2: This didn't do anything for me. I didn't think it was all that suspenseful and the writing style isn't my cup of tea. I could not engage with the characters and didn't much care what happened with them. Needless to say, I won't be reading the sequel to this. I almost quit reading... more it a few times, but I wanted to perservere - the plot had definite potential, but it didn't live up to the expectations. less
