review 1: If you love a small hometown romance with a bit of humor, some suspense, and lots of secondary lovable characters thrown in, then this is the book for you. After college, Carolanne Baxter moves back to her hometown of Adams Grove. A town she left because she was tired of everybody knowing her father, as the town drunk. Her friend, Conner Buckham, who is also her fathers friend, has a law practice in the town, and she becomes his partner. He also, happens to be the man that the now deceased town matchmaker, had predicted would be Carolanne's perfect match, although she wants no part of that. Between working together, living next to each other, and their roles in their best friends wedding, they spend a lot of time together. When a stranger appears in town, and ends up being... more murdered, Carolanne and Conner, have to make it through the chain of events that follow, without letting their differing opinions come between them. A great read!!
review 2: I think the title is a bit silly and misleading...I thought the book would be about a couple who'd decided getting married wasn't what they should have done, but the book isn't about that at all. It's a bit romance, a bit mystery, set in a small town with leading characters who've experienced big city life and decided to come home and nest. There's not a huge story, but the characters are likeable and the dialog was good. An easy read, but not something to put at the top of the pile. less
