review 1: I won this book from GoodReads! "Shades of Truth" by Naomi Kinsman is a delightful novel appropriate for younger teenagers, as well as adults. I enjoyed reading this story about a middle school aged girl who moves away from the home where she grew up, but stays in contact and shares her struggles with her best friend through email. This story encompasses the very real struggles every person experiences when the line between right and wrong become blurred and how the decisions we make can have unexpected and lasting consequences.

It is about a girl who moves to a new town and while there she struggles with growing up, figuring out the difference between truth and what is right, and trying to hold on to her old friends. I... more felt that the characters did not act their age. Some characters seemed older than they were supposed to be, but most of them acted quite a few years younger. I enjoyed the e-mails that were included in the story. Overall, this was a good middle grade book. less
