review 1: Everyone should read this. Kampusch displays incredible strength and intelligence, and it is clear that despite everything she never lost her sense of self, let alone her mind. Her anger towards those who have tried to re-victimise her as suffering from Stockholm Syndrome is palpable, and her argument that the "syndrome" is neither a pathology nor a weakness, but a rational response to her imprisonment is compelling and fascinating. Not everything is black or white, as she says, no matter how much people want this to be true. If an "evil" man can have some good, then we all contain some capacity for evil, which makes her story difficult but also very very important. Kampusch's kidnapper and others like him do not exist in a vacuum. The book impressed me on a philosophical, ... morepsychological and intellectual level, but was also exceptionally well written (yes, there were co-authors), with a great narrative structure. I got the feeling that Kampusch wrote it for reasons of personal catharsis, rather than a desire to be sensationalist or capitalise on her story. I came away with a great deal of respect for this brave woman, and I expect to see great things come from her yet. An absolutely brilliant book.
review 2: Well this time im not gonna rate this book, I am in no position to do this.Yet I found it really brave the way natascha expressed her life and experince, she's such an inspiration , someone filled with courage and strength that people who went through ordinary experinces lack. And she's a very smart person, for a small girl to think and act the way she did, is just impressing. I really wish her the best for the future and her coming days. less
