review 1: This is not a bad fantasy novel, but it involves characters from the Diablo games. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who hasn't played them. It is set between DiabloII, Lord of Destruction and DiabloIII and details the events leading to Leah becoming the ward of Deckard Cain. It also reflects on the events of the original game and fills in some details of what happened between this game and DiabloII.
review 2: It's a nice book, that keeps the reader in the same immersion and feeling you get when playing the Diablo videogames. It's not a Horror or Lovecraftian story as I was imagining earlier, but it's a fine "preparation" for those who wants to play the Diablo 3 videogame. It sets everything for Cain Deckard and Leah, introducing another two important character... mores that will be very important to the game plot. less
