review 1: I was quite interested in the events of both World Wars after studying them in world history with Mr.Mcgartlin. Then I found this book, it goes in to the stories of a prisoner of war named Sapir, who was captured due to his religious status being Jewish. However, he managed to survive the concentration camps and has gone through great amounts of both mental and physical abuse. After his whole family was killed in the concentration camp, he made it his life mission to make retribution for the damage that was done to him. He sets on journey to capture some of the most infamous German SS officers for their war crimes, including the most dangerous criminal Adolf Eichmann. This book was extremely captivating as it is extremely fluent in its series of events, and I have rarely s... moretopped to go back and collect my thoughts and reread sections. The details of the events of how Adolf Eichmann has escaped throughout multiple countries as well as his adventures on capturing Eichmann and how his investigation brings new light to his current evidence. The considerable amount of detail that Neal Bascomb has put in to this book plays an extremely vivid movie in my mind.
review 2: Deeply fascinating read on a notorious man. The author carefully builds the story to show why Eichmann was such a wanted man, and the many challenges faced in getting to him (or any Nazi for that matter). The level of detail in the book is amazing- you always know what is happening, and why something happened. One of the best written parts is when the team has caught Eichmann, but has to wait until the transportation out of the country is ready: it's a deeply depressing vibe, and you feel exactly what the team felt. less
