review 1: Before listneing to this deightful audio collection I was not familiar with Amanda Palmer's work, but I foud myself falling into wonderful awe. Her lyrics are poignant, even if the melodies of her songs are less developed, and I found myself on the verge of laughter many times throughout the performance. I especially appreciated her tune that discussed the idea of pop music, since it's basic theme is do what you want and fuck everyone else's judgement. Of course Neil's portions of the show were my favourites though, since I very much appreciate his special brand of weirdness. His song about the reincarnation of Joan of Arc was surprisingly funny, even for its violence, and his spoken piece about attending the 2010 Academy Awards was the source of much laug... morehter.
review 2: 3 discs. Disc 1(my favorite) is primarily Gaiman reading some of his short work and poems. Disc 2 is a combination of Gaiman and Palmer reading and singing. Disc 3 primarily Palmer singing.Really enjoyed Gaiman reading and could have listened to much more. Many of the songs by Palmer were silly or goofy, which probably would have been more fun in person but she did have several more serious songs that I really enjoyed. less
