review 1: The Legacy of Eden had the potential to be a book that I loved but it just didn't live up to it. Set between the present and 1946 Iowa, The Legacy of Eden focuses on four characters and they lives that revolve around the family home, Aurelia. I enjoyed the plot and it had lots of potential as a story but the main problem I had with this book was the characters. None of the characters appealed to me and that is what seemed to let this novel down for me. The novel is split into four sections, one of each of the characters it focuses on. However sometimes it gets a bit confusing as to who the author is actually writing about.
review 2: the Legacy of Eden was such a captivating read. The dysfunction of the family is insane and makes other dysfunctional familie
... mores seem tame. I loved how all the characters have secrets and as you read they come to light. At some points it was so difficult to read because of the realness of the characters. I would recommend this to anyone who likes to be suprised by the goodness and wickedness of ppl. less

Couldn't put it down, had to keep reading until I had found out the story of this family.

This one was a slower read for me. A little depressing and darker than I'd anticipated.

Not my favorite. It was ok but I would have been fine without it.
