review 1: It wasn't a bad book at all, I'd give it 3 1/2 stars. It wasn't the greatest book I've ever read. It was sorta predictable. But I was surprised when I found out that Teddy wasn't his brother at all! Really crazy. It was different, a little weird. But it was a decent, fast read. I connected with Miles to some degree. I'm not schizo, but I felt his pain and his feeling of always being on edge. What I didn't understand was, if the crows were a hallucination... How did his sister see the crows too?and how did the crow poop on Prestons coat? That confused me a little. But it was interesting.
review 2: This book is a bit of a roller coaster for me. I only know of Schizophrenia in general, you know, the general knowledge you get from dictionaries and a few articles he
... morere and there. But I've never quite understood the illness itself and even less of what the patients might go through. Nic Sheff did a terrific work and portraying Miles's character as a schezophrenic because he had once suffered the illness himself. Schizo gives reader's a great insight of a Schizophrenic. And at one point I find myself rather afraid of the fact that Schizophrenia is real, that there are people out there suffering from this mental illness where they have a very hard time interpreting if something is real or not and sometimes they don't even realise that there never was anything where they're looking at.Another thing I love about the book is how it ends. It ends with hope and I think that that is one of the most beautiful way to end a story, with hope. Hope goes on for a very long time and for me, it makes the characters in the book very real, as if they're out there somewhere, living their lives in content. The story is divided into four parts and the chapters are kept short. There are only 200 plus pages, so, it is a very short read but there is so much in it, so much. less
