review 1: this book was unbelievably good, it was a super quick read and also very easy to read but this book does deal with some heavy topics. this book drew me in because of the nature of the topic about mental health and the way it effects someone and the people around you. i did not know much about schizophrenia only a few things that i had read about it. but i do suffer from depression and anxiety myself so i know a little on mental health.Nic did a great job giving me a look into schizophrenia and wrote the main character miles as he himself suffers from the exact same issue as his main character. This book also opened up my mind a little more on how people are looked at when they have a mental health issue and how real these are and how every day people are effected. The sto... morery is divided into four parts and the chapters are kept short. There are only 200 plus pages, so, it is a very short read but there is so much in it, so much
review 2: I loved Schizo and I still love Nic Sheff. This is a wonderful introduction into his writing as a YA author. In transition from his autobiography of Tweak, he kept his stream of consciousness writing style and through out a lot of the cuss words. He kept the questions of sexuality, identity, drugs, and family. The mind of Nic Sheff shined through his fictional character dealing with Schizophrenia. This book is very short and I finished it in a couple hours but would recommend it to anyone who finds mental illness interesting or anyone who loves a good book. less
