An Upstate New York Mafia Tale
review 1: Quite a while back, I had the pleasure of reading For Nothing (An Upstate New York Mafia Tale) and I loved every second of my reading experience. (see review HERE). So when Buffalo Soldiers (An Upstate New York Mafia Tale) showed up in my inbox with a request I was very excited and couldn't wait to add it to my list. Finally, I was able to crack it open and begin the tale...To say that Nicholas Denmon can spin a yarn that will keep you looking over your shoulder every few seconds just knowing the guy behind you is ready to fit you with cement shoes is an understatement. Buffalo Soldiers continues the tale that For Nothing started and the heat is on as we follow the FBI on a chase to find their missing assassin, Rafael Rontego, a group of Russians taking aim ,on the Italia... moren family and recently freed, Ivan Nivsky is pulled back into the mix before he even has the time to enjoy even the smallest amount of the fresh air of freedom.I've never been to New York and, quite honestly, have no desire, but Denmon creates a world of such vivid description that I feel like I have a good idea of what to expect in certain areas. I love the characters that have been created for this series and the attention to detail both in conversation and description of the characters and their wound/surroundings just makes this book pop. Buffalo Soldiers is a solid story that just begs to be read in a single sitting.Buffalo Soldiers is filled with twists and turns, secrets and revelations that will keep you holding and one begging for me...and I do believe I heard book 3 is in the works if not close to being done. So do not miss out, if you haven't already read For Nothing, click the review link above and then hit the cover image to be taken Amazon purchase page for it and THEN while you are there go ahead and pick up Buffalo Soldiers (An Upstate New York Mafia Tale) and prepare yourself to be begging Nicholas Denmon to finish book 3 yesterday.
review 2: As a follow up to the FOR NOTHING. I was a little disappointed in the flow of this novel. With the ending of For Nothing being such a cliffhanger I hoped that the roller coaster ride wouldn't stop. This book lacked the action and suspense that was present in the first. I still liked it but was not happy with the sudden change in the protagonist, and the fact Vaughn didn't play a large roll in the novel, more of a supportive role. less
