review 1: This is the second book in the Patricia Amble Mystery series. I loved this book and it was my preferred book so far of the series up until the ending. I stayed up late to finish the book with eyes wide in disbelief of all that unraveled in the end. Upon reading the last page I burst into tears and threw the book to the ground. If I were friends with the author we would NOT be on speaking terms right now! haha I even stayed up later to start into the third book in hopes that this "horrible ending" could somehow be salvaged in the third book..... The outcome of the third book will definitely have a direct effect on my review of this one. Right now, I remain hopeful.
review 2: The second book in the Patricia Amble series, finds "Tish" going home. Home to where he
... morer mother drove off a bridge, her father's family was, and the old cottage that she just bought to spruce up where she spent her childhood summers. Tish leaves behind Rawlings and heads for Port Silvan, and also leaves behing Brad. After spending some time with him, after her name is cleared, she leaves him in the road to only see her tail lights. She has convinced herself that going home is something she has to do. Not realizing that someone at home, someone she didn't even knew existed, was waiting for her return. The longer she stays in the U.P., the more her childhood memories come flooding back to her. She remembers her grandfather and his girlfriend which she called Puppa and Jellybean. She struggles with a long term relationship with Brad, and a to close relationship with his sister, Samantha. But, her father is no where in sight. After turning in a drug dealer, Frank Majestic, he has been on the run.As time goes on, Tish learns more about her parents and family, things that shock her to her core. Dead bodies start popping up around her again, and life again takes a drastic turn for Tish after a long time family rival has found her thinking she could lead him to her father. This series does have the religious undertone, but not smothering about it. It has really good twits and turns. You never know who is going to end up dead next. I like how it wasn't completely predictable. I would recommend this to someone that likes chick lit and doens't mind the christian aspect of the content. That God is in control. We plan, God laughs. less
