review 1: I really love reading books, but I am very picky to which book I tossed in my "all-time faves." The last fiction book I put in that sacred list of mine is "TFioS." But now, I have another one. This book constructed sentences that really detailed the scene it wanted to convey. Not just accurately describing the scene but the emotions that the characters are feeling. Details is one of the most important elements of a great book and details, meticulous details, this book gives. Travis and Charles are as real in my head as Australia, Outback, Station and such. Definitely the best fiction book I have read thia year.
review 2: This is an amazing novel of two men who found love in the outback of Australia. Charlie, a ranch owner, and Travis, a agronomy graduate from T... moreexas, come together in an dramatic way in an area of the world that has the harshest of environments. Charlie has hidden being gay for years and when his dad died 2 years prior he officially took over Stratton Station. His dad had always told him a fairy would never run that station so he sent him off to college hoping to get it out of Charlie's system. When he took over those words haunted Charlie for a while until Travis came unto the scene. A strong attraction hit both of them when Travis arrived, but Charlie struggled with it until the moment happened. Charlie still had a hard time understanding what was happening, but Travis had a way of bringing everything to light. Their relationship blossomed as time went on until Travis was stranded overnight in the desert and gotten hurt. They found him the next day with a busted leg and Charlie took off his shirt to cover the knee. Everyone saw all the love bites on his chest and back. Charlie didn't realize it until later. One of the ranch hand had called him gay and was immediately fired on the spot. Charlie didn't know what to do other than letting the ranch hands take the weekend off after their long week, not knowing whether they would come back. The story line was amazing with a roller coaster filled with emotion and love. These two stubborn men weathered through the storms. The dramatic moment whether Travis was going to leave when his time was up through Charlie into a real battle with himself. Travis refused to leave and their story continues. This book was hard to put down. The character development was great with all the drama, emotion, love, sex, and anger. Even the sideline character like George and Ma were strong as they show their part in Charlie's life. This is a must read for those who love MM Romance. I loved it. less
