review 1: PillageObert SkyeThe book Pillage by Obert Skye is about a teenage boy named Beck who has grown up living with his ill mother. When his mother dies he is forced to move into the manor with an uncle that he's never met before. As Beck adapts to his new home in Kingsplot, he uncovers dark secrets about himself and his family.I thought that this book very intense and exciting. In the beginning I wasn't so sure if I wanted to continue the book, but as I kept on reading I grew I like it. There is also a lot of action in this book. "Someone fired a shotgun into the air. My heart considered giving out, but I knew that if I fell now they would catch me. I headed into the trees lining the side of the lawn and ran through the forest" (244). Overall, this book was filled with action ... moreand excitement that kept me wanting to read more.I think that this book would be good for teenagers and young adults who love action and suspense with a touch of mystery involved. This book is great for those who like books with a twist in them.
review 2: Upon his mother's death, fifteen-year-old Beck Phillips is sent to live with an eccentric uncle he had never met in a remote manor house (I think it is somewhere in America), where he learns that his family suffers from an ancestral curse that allows him to make plants grow on command and dragon eggs hatch with amazing consequences. My grandson, Jackson, who is 11 years old, let me borrow this book - I really enjoyed it - thank-you Jackson! Do you have the next one, Choked? less
