review 1: This novella (3.5 in the series) is super cute but still has it’s ups and downs. A point that I found impressive in this itty bitty ebook. There’s a reason I don’t usually read the 5. Or 2.5 or 3.5, I find them to be rushed with no character development and lacking a plot. MAKING WAVES, although I didn’t form a deep connection or attachment to the characters, I still liked them (something that seriously determines how much I like or don’t a book). We have a journalist and a yummy surfer with a past. Of course the surfer has more secrets and the journalist is begging for the scoop. What really happened that night? The night she died? This 3.5 book is something that you cannot stop reading. Although predictable, still fun enough to keep me reading.Overall, this book... more is a solid 3 out of 5 stars. “She kind of accidentally bumped into his chest on the way out. Well, maybe not so accidentally. She saw his muscles through his shirt --- they'd just needed a closer physical inspection.”
review 2: Another satisfying story from Ms. London! I really enjoy that the characters in her novels are connected and now feel the need to read them all. In Making Waves, Justine goes to Hawaii for a vacation only to find a newsworthy story involving the gorgeous yet reclusive surfer, Chase Ryder. Little does she realize that whilst in pursuit of this story, she will come face-to-face with a man from her past for whom she has unresolved feelings. This delightful book is full of twists, longing and heat. Ms. London has truly mastered the art of capturing the sensual kiss. Her rated PG words are quite effective at creating a rated R reaction - not an easy task! Making Waves is the perfect fun, sexy beach read. less
