review 1: This is a really good book written like a fiction business book or a fable regarding the current problems with our government/politicians/society and solutions to fix them. The book centers around David from Indytech and his business colleagues identifying The 5 Laws of Decline and using their knowledge of those laws to turn companies around. Along the way David applies these Laws to the decline of freedom in our country and the decline of our government with Politicians who no longer represent the people but rather than own or special interests and seem to only care about re-election. All this while being watched over and helped out by the founding fathers who have angelic qualities about them and are able to travel through time to insert themselves as serendipitous men... moretors when needed. While I don't agree with all of the 9 Resolves I see them as a good starting point for the National Debate. The book is also based on the premise that about 10% of the population will be natural leaders to lead our nation out of our current situation.
review 2: An excellent, timely book. I think I need to read and review it a few times before I truly 'get it', but I am already beginning to see the 5 Laws of Decline in effect around me.I wasn't excited about the fable, or story aspect of the book but after hearing Orrin and Oliver's logic, I agree it kept the material from becoming dull. However, the story writing is quite poor at times and that is where this book loses a star. These men are great thinkers, not novel writers.But don't let that deter you. About halfway in I got sucked into the material, and began enjoying the book. I hope many people read it and apply it in their lives. less
