review 1: This was a fun book. Betts Winston and her grandmother run the Gram's Country Cooking School in Broken Rope, Missouri. When the local theater owner is found murdered, Gram is arrested. Betts has an unusual alli in the quest for answers: the ghost of Jerome Cowbender, a bank robber who was killed in a shootout with the sheriff over 100 years before. The plot was a little predictable but the story was fun and the characters were great.
review 2: Law school dropout, Isabella aka Betts, is helping her Gram in Grams cooking school when a body is found- when the police show up, Betts finds herself face to face with her high-school sweetheart. Cliff has returned to Broken Rope just as Betts has- to start fresh. Betts has to keep Gram out of jail, deal with her feel... moreings for Cliff and deal with "seeing" a new friend... Lovely paranormal cozy.. I thoroughly enjoyed this fast paced read. Interesting characters, love the setting and history of the town, great plot and attention to detail. less
