review 1: I bought and read this book after having visited Jekyll Island. During our stay we went on multiple history tours, visited the museum and cottages, and purchased and read Kate Brown's letters. With that said, I feel as though the author lifted most of the content and writing from the same sources... ... morecation vacationed during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Pamela Bauer Mueller gives us insights into these personalities and the people in their employ.I won this book from Goodreads and Ms. Bauer, an islander herself, was kind enough to personalize the inscription. Jeckyl Island is now on my bucket list! less
