review 1: I really enjoy this new series following the character of Kate Lange. I did, however, find this third book the weakest of them all. Although I detest romance in my books because they are usually so ridiculous, boy meets girl, five pages later boy protests his undying love, that sort of thing, I rather enjoyed the romance in this book because it was so subtle. I felt that this book had the relationship so subtle, it was almost non existent. Maybe that was the authors intent. I guess that remains to be seen in her future offerings. I would have given this book three stars if I could though, because it held my interest even with the lack of an interesting mystery. I think this is because the authors character developement is always so well done. Plus, she always tells an inte... moreresting story. I will be reading her next book in spite of my slight disappointment in this one.
review 2: This was a 3 1/2 star read for me. It has been a while since I read the first two books in this series, so some of the references to past events were hard for me to recall. This was an exciting, suspenseful thriller and some of the action scenes were pretty exciting. I didn't think this one was quite up to par with the first two though. Definitely worth a read for those that enjoy a thriller..... less
