review 1: The ending is really nonexistent We go from a climatic scene, directly to the epilogue. It felt unsatisfying. The flashbacks and vaguely Pollyannaish feel to this novel made it hard to like. No one is so blasé about being lied to, manipulated and cheated on as Scott was. Even if the attitude Morsi is attempting to convey is tolerance, it does not feel authentic to what one might feel if they had been hurt in the way that he was. I also felt that we were left with unanswered questions about why the one woman was so bent on not seeing the library change at all. I also was interested in hearing more about James. ... moretulism suicide attempt, the cliff hanger at the end - its so annoying to end on a climax!, and the pat and unneccesary epilogue come to mind). but overall it was exactly the lighthearted read I was looking for. I wanted more development of DJ! I liked her subplots with autistic James, overlooked Ashley and busybody Suzy. Basically, the supporting cast in this book was fantastic. Very believable small town setting. less

I found the subplot about the mom to be way more interesting than the actual story.
