review 1: 3.5 *Book source ~ Free on AmazonEve is at a high school dance with a loser when she spots a guy she’s never seen before but who seems oddly familiar to her. She’s sure she’s never met him, but he acts like he knows her yet won’t reveal the facts. It frustrates her that evening, but the next morning she’s about to get the surprise of her life. Will she be able to let go of the past and go with him or will she play it safe and stay?A very interesting concept! I like it! The story is too short to get a good sense of Eve and Holden, but I love the plot. While the dialogue is a bit stilted at times and the background is sparse, the story is still a decent one. I wonder what happens after the end?
review 2: Originally, the name of this story caught my ... moreattention... as well as the plot. Love the idea of "fated hearts" which follow us in each lifetime. Overall, I enjoyed this story, and found it to be a quick read! Thought the author helped illustrate the story with descriptions of, both, characters and scenery. Many times I felt like a bystander... watching a scene unfold. The interactions between the teenagers was realistic and tame compared to what you often hear these days! There was a feeling of innocence as Eve and Holden "begin" their relationship. How it was all new to her... but, somehow familiar. The paranormal element added to the confusion she felt... wondering if she were going crazy? Which was understandable. And the element of her memories being brought to the present day... as a way of helping her understand... was good. I enjoyed the glimpse of their past.There were several things that I would have liked to see developed a little more... but, understand this was a novella. Left me wondering (in a good way) what happened with Eve and Holden once they met their future. less
