review 1: This book should have been listed under children's fantasy instead of general fantasy. It is not suitable for adults, and even then, I think the average child of 10+ years would find it boring. It was not well written and the storyline was simplistic at best. Please note that all the excellent reviews come from the same area in Florida. I'm guessing they are all friends of the author. I'm rather pissed off that I wasted my money on this book thanks to their glowing reviews.
review 2: I can't even begin to tell you how much I enjoyed reading this book. Although this is a young adult novel, I think all adults will appreciate it. I loved the fact that the story moves along quickly, something is happening on each page, and you'll find that you can't put it down unt... moreil you find out what comes next.I'm currently reading the next one in this fantasy series.Merged review:I couldn't put this book down, I think I seriously enjoyed it more than the Harry Potter series, which I never thought would be possible. The characters pop off the pages, each one having their own unique personality. What I really liked is that, when I thought something was going to happen, it wasn't what I predicted, a twist and turn on every page. The author's imagination is unreal, but the best part of it is, the book is fiction yet leaves you feelings that it all could be possible. less
