The Adventures of the Princess and Mr. Whiffle
review 1: The final gag was a bit too easy to predict. From the moment it claimed it wasn't a book for children even if it looked like one it was obvious there was going to be a dark twist. Okay, so it was a bit funny, but I think that had more to do with the drawings and not anything at all with the storytelling, which was rather bland all through the whole thing. I really do want the Princess' fort for myself though. That's cool stuff right there.

Oh yeah, so I never reviewed this. It's short. The pictures are pretty good. I didn't really find it all that funny (which I sort of assumed the point), but the ending was great and unexpected and that made it worth reading overall.Besides even if you don't like it, you're only out 5 minutes (well and a ton of money if you buy it, man this thing is expensive). I'd recommend borrowing this from a library rather than buying it if you really want to read it.

This book is best read with a spouse, and it is best read with all the manners that one would read a child's book (i.e. dramatic pauses, gestures with hands, and a slow/steady pace). My wife especially enjoyed the end of Part 1, but the whole book was a fantastic read in my opinion. Definitely a unique find, and I can't wait to get my hands on the sequel so I can find out what other experiences the Princess has.

I really liked it, fun and enjoyable, not at all what I was expecting. Fun!
