review 1: This was a fun trip down memory lane, and the fanboy that I used to be loved the breakdown of the timeline, such as it is.That said, I wished there was more content. I wanted more interviews with the development team to really dig into their thought processes when designing these games. The artwork, and commentary from the art department, was fantastic. I just wanted more of that for the other aspects - music, puzzle design, and worldbuilding.Still a worthy addition to any video game fan's shelf.
review 2: A really nice collection of concept art, background information, and historical conjecture, including a bonus "origins" story. I felt like there could have been more information from the designers included but since nothing like this has ever been done bef
... moreore I really can't complain too much, it really is a masterwork. The "timeline" section is mostly conjecture and they don't say why they've put certain games in certain places in the timeline, but they do a good job of recapping the entire story and some of the order they put things made a whole lot of sense. I'm not sure I'm a fan of the "three-split" chronology, and it seems it would work just as well with a two-branch (which really merges back into one).Anyway, really cool book, and it's huge with some gorgeous pages. less

The 3rd timeline seems like a lazy excuse, but this book is filled with Hyrulian goodness.
