review 1: I realised a few chapters in that I probably should have read Paul's previous novels but Collecting Cooper still works as a stand-alone book. CC is told from the POV of ex-cop Theodore Tate, former mental patient Adrian and Prof Cooper Riley and because of this it makes for a well rounded story. I loved that the reader gets to go inside the mind of a madman (or two) and a big thank you to Mr Cleave for giving your story a kick-arse chick!! Having just finished Collecting Cooper moments ago I can't help but imagine what a fantastic (if somewhat gruesome) movie this would make...
review 2: I'm surprised how good this was. I rarely like serial killer books but the twist this one uses kept me reading. I also like the rogue PI character who reminds me of Lawrence
... more Block's Scudder character, one of my favorites. The other surprise was how rough Christchurch, New Zealand is portrayed in this book - I've always thought of NZ as a hiker's paradise until now (don't let the NZ tourism board). Hard to put this one down too. less
