review 1: When I reviewed Collecting Cooper, I said that it was just about as perfect as a thriller could be. Well, I was wrong. The Laughterhouse is as perfect as a thriller can be! You gotta read this series! Although you can read each of Paul Cleave's books as stand alones, I recommend reading them in their original date-published order, meaning The Cleaner first (published in his native New Zealand before the US). The books are more enjoyable when you know the histories of what are recurring characters, one of which is the main focus of more than one the novels. However you want to read Cleave's books, read them!
review 2: This book was kind of tough to read---lots of gore, psychological torture, sadness and fear. I like books like this normally but there was so muc
... moreh anger (and rightly so) from Caleb Cole but his kidnapping of the doctor and his girls and the lengths he went to get "justice or retribution" were tough decisions and tough to read. This book was certainly a thriller and I kept turning the pages, even though my stomach turned. less

Clever, but a lot of unresolved pieces and undeveloped characters.

A thrilling story but a terrible open ending.
