review 1: Had no idea this was a series and will definitely get the previous ones. I loved the tone in which the book is written and I found the detective to be hilarious as hell. This one is about a demented person starting a "collection" of serial killers which consists of an actual murderer and a girl to keep him entertained. On the other side, there's another story going on in which a girl has gone missing (no, she's not the one in the collection) and it turns out to be that she was going to be the next victim for our murderer, which he had kidnapped a day before he was snatched by Adam, our crazy freak. Both stories tie in very nicely and the book is kept at a fast read pace. I didn't give it a 5 star review because of the constant ramble that goes on between the privately hire... mored detective and his ex-partner that's still in the police force about him not getting involved and whatnot. The author dodn't have to mention it so much, I think. Other than that, fab read!
review 2: Just loved this book from start to finish. Paul Cleave is an author that is getting better and better with each book (although his first book The Cleaner takes a lot of beating!)Full of wry humour and page turning plot, this is a book that will make you want to read in one sitting. As with the previous books, it is not for the squeamish, or animal lovers! But a must read all the same. Would appeal to fans of John Connolly or Michael Marshall. less
