review 1: Het verhaal is niet eens onaardig: de dochter van de beste vriendin vanLisa verdwijnt, en omdat Lisa vergeten was door te geven dat een sleepover van die dochter bij haar dochter niet door kon gaan, krijgt zij de schuld. Maar het verhaal weet niet echt te overtuigen, ik kwam er niet goed in. Ik vond het taalgebruik ook nogal houterig, maar ik kwam er niet echter of dit aan het origineel of aan de vertaling lag - ik las het boek in het Nederlands. Misschien een aardig boek om tijdens je vakantie aan de rand van het zwembad te lezen, maar dat is dan ook alles.
review 2: This was a fast and easy read that was advertised as a thriller suspense novel. I didn't feel it was very suspenseful. There was a mystery and a twist but it was really more about relationships, e... morespecially with friends and with husbands and wives. Set in the UK, there are a number of British words used, some of which I had not heard before and didn't know the meaning, but it didn't hinder the reading. less
