review 1: I guess I spoke too soon when I said that I was sure this book was sure to be as good as the last 2 books I read from PC Cast. I did not like this book at all. I thought the characters were a little too forced and had no chemistry with each other. It was trying too hard to be funny when it wasn't. I dislike that the heroine was already 43 years old. At that age, she should already be married and the least of her troubles should be looking for a mate! I also found it repugnant that she was lusting after a married man though that man's marriage was already on the rocks. It still would have been better if he was a widower or he and his wife were divorced. I know, I know, we are talking about King Arthur here and we all know how the original story ends but this isn't a retelli... moreng for nothing. I also was unable to connect with the heroine because she was trying to be down to earth too much (I would have been THRILLED if I was suddenly royalty and people would start curtseying and kowtowing to my every wishes.)I like sassy characters but she was sassy in the wrong way. Oh, I could go on and on but the bottomline is I didn't like Isabel. She wasn't believable to me.I hope the other Goddess books aren't as bad as this one.
review 2: I bought this book awhile ago. When I was in high school, I had read several other books in this series and was interested in reading this one about King Arthur. After reading this, I've realized how much more of an intelligent reader I have become and I'm rather upset about the waste of time reading this book was. I don't even want to own it. There were times while reading I had no idea what was going on because the author would just bring in characters and they would start speaking when they hadn't been previously mentioned as being IN THE ROOM. Also all the modern jokes were terrible. I get that the woman is from current times and has magic to convince the people of Camelot that she's not crazy, but REALLY. It was just terrible. Would not recommend. I could recommend better fanfiction. Ugh. less
