Just finished a great book by a guy who would characterize himself as down and out. He couldn’t get a job anywhere else and landed a job driving a school bus. Turns out he got the special needs bus and so began a school year of him driving. In the process, he started to find his purpose and started to feel useful. If you want a true story and a feel-good book this is for you. The book is aptly called, Precious Cargo.
One chapter is titled Best Day on the Job. As I’m reading it, I’m waiting to find out what made it so great….I’m reading and reading until it hit me: It was an ordinary day and it was the best day. That’s a great way to look at life. Everyday we are given one day. It might be ordinary but just living it makes it the best. Today is a special day because it’s today. I’m not going to wait for something to make it special because it already is.
