review 1: A library loan we won't be rushing to buy. Cute illustrations and good wordplay but a bit of a gross story imo. The dogs removing their bums and hanging them on coat racks didn't seem funny to me or my son and I couldn't explain why they did this to begin with. It seems like the sort of thing cooked up by a parent trying to answer a child's question of why do dogs sniff each others bottoms and it's probably as good a response as any but without the question being posed it's not the best story to read.
review 2: Before reading this rhyming book, I assumed by the title that the dogs would be swapping their hind areas including legs and tails. I thought maybe they would show the front of a Bulldog with the back end of a Great Dane or maybe the front of a Lab with
... more the back of a Yorkie. I was wrong. What they really exchange are their bum-holes (to put it politely). As a parent, I thought it was gross and disgusting but my 7-year-old son thought it was hilarious (after I explained what it was supposed to be) and I guess that's the point of a children's book . . . . making the child laugh. less

Highly amusing, rhyming tale that the children (4 and 2) love to hear again and again.
