review 1: Tuhle knížku kreslil v době, kdy jsem se za ním v New Yorku zastavil. Žádná knížka nedokáže reprodukovat ty nádherný velký ilustrace, které tam tehdy vznikaly. Ale protože naprostá většina čtenářů do ateliérů podobně šikovných lidí jaktěživo nevkročí, rád jim prozrazuji, že i tak jsou Petrovy knihy nádherné a stojí za to je mít. A jednou za čas s nimi zajít do malostranské Zelené čajovny a tam si je nechat od Petra podepsat. Dělá k podpisu takové hezké kresbičky... review 2: I have not finished reading the entire original poem by Fariduddin Attar, yet I believe this is a remarkable and amazing portrayal of the poem. The paintings of Peter Sis gives life and meaning to the words, and even without words the picture... mores are amazing on its own. The paintings have so much details, spatial qualities and depth to them, and every page flows very well from start to the end. Not only can this book be enjoyed by adults, but a great book to have children to start to read poetry.The journey of the birds throughout the whole book is relevant and allegorical to every reader's life - in fact it is a quest of everyone's life. I will be finishing the complete original poem by Attar once I return home to my country (I kept my copy there!) and enjoy this illustrated version again after that to further digest the whole message again. less
