review 1: Oliver and the Seawigs was such a fun and exciting read I would highly recommend it for young readers. I was given this book free for an honest review. I love to see creative and beautifully illustrated books like this that stretch children's imaginations, and encourage them to dream. A silly dream is better than no dream at all. Oliver is funny and the whole book has a creative and silly feel which will easily pull hung readers into the adventure. I am a sucker for silly and wonderful illustrations too.
review 2: This creative adventure will keep the interest young readers with all its twists and turns. Oliver, the young hero, will also give kids a sense of empowerment. Oliver and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Crisp, are adventures who are finally coming... more home because they have completed all the possible adventures there are. Oliver is happy to finally have one place to stay, but his parents are sad to see it all end. However, on their first night there are mysterious islands near their home that Mr. and Mrs. Crisp decide to investigate. Unfortunately they are Rambling Isles and Mr. and Mrs. Crisp are taken away. It is up to Oliver to save them. It’s good that he has had plenty of experience with adventures because now he is prepared for this great adventure to solve the mystery of the Rambling Isles and rescue his parents. Along the way he meets several new friends -- Cliff, Iris, and Mr. Culpepper.This is a chapter book with black and white illustrations interspersed through-out. The illustrations interrupt the text to give young readers a break from reading and assist readers in seeing what the book describes. Each illustration is beautifully drawn with humor and many details. less
